Ronaldo: Our rivalry with Messi is positive
Cristiano Ronaldo believes his rivalry with Lionel Messi to be positive and believe that there is anything wrong in being compared with the Barcelona star.
The two are constantly compared by fans worldwide, and in 2014 Ronaldo seems one step forward, winning the Champions League, Copa del Rey and the European Super Cup with Real Madrid, as well as individual awards as Golden Ball and Golden Boot.
"This is part of my life," said Ronaldo about his rivalry with Messi. "It is normal for people to compare us. I am used. It happened at Manchester United and I know how to handle it."
"We are colleagues in football. Outside of football have no relationship with Messi, but I have with other players. This is a positive rivalry."
Portuguese who is 29-year-old admitted that the last 12 months are among the best in his career, but does not believe that this is due to a better shape than before.
"The individual awards are the result of collective goals achieved. We had a fantastic season. Won the Champions League, Copa del Rey, the European Super Cup."
"Golden Boot trophy as a reward for that we play well as a team.I will not lie. I really want it. Perhaps it was the best on collective or individual awards. But I'm the same level in the last six or seven years."
