Ronaldo, Messi and Neimar are the candidates for the FIFA Year of the Year
Cristiano Ronaldo from Real Madrid, Lionel Messi from Barcelona and Neimar from Paris Saint-Germain are the three finalists for FIFA`s `Football Player of the Year` award. Ronaldo, who won the prize last year, is once again the favorite after helping his club win the Champions League, the title of the Primera Division and Spain`s Super Cup. Messi, second in 2016, is the top scorer of the Spanish Championship and with the Catalonians won the Spanish Cup. Neimar moved from Barcelona to the French capital with a record transfer of 222 million euros in the summer and quickly established himself as a leader in the PSG.
The candidates for the coach of the year are Masimiliano Alegri from Italian champion Juventus Antonio Conte who led Chelsea to England and Zinedine Zidane from Real Madrid. Best prize winners are the Italian Canluigi Buffon from Juventus, Costa Rican star Keil Navas from Real Madrid and German Manuel Neuer from Bayern Munich. The ranking in the different categories is determined by the vote of senior coaches and captains of national teams of countries around the world, a panel of journalists, and online fan voting.
